⚙️ Daily targets
Targets are a starting point — tune them to your body and your doctor's advice, not to punishment. The rule decides what "macros met" requires; the calculator sets it automatically from your diet preset.
🧮 Macro calculator
Mifflin-St Jeor estimate — treat it as a starting line, watch 2–3 weeks of results, then adjust. PCOS can nudge real needs below what formulas guess. Switch the diet preset to compare — keto, balanced, Mediterranean and more — before committing.

⏳ Fasting
--:--
not fasting
Goal alerts chime while the app is open — for a reminder that works with the app closed, send the end time to your calendar. 📅
Edit start time
Actually stopped eating earlier than when you hit "Start"? Fix it here — your goal length stays the same, elapsed time recalculates from the corrected start.
Custom end time
Pick when the fast should end. If a fast is running, its goal shifts to match; if not, one starts now and runs until then.
Extended fasts (24 h+): keep electrolytes up (sodium·potassium·magnesium), and end the fast if you feel dizzy, weak, or wrong — no timer outranks your body. Loop in a doctor for multi-day fasts, especially with PCOS meds. 🧵
🧂 Electrolyte drink "snake juice"
On longer fasts the body loses salt and potassium, which can bring headaches, tiredness, cramps or dizziness. This drink replaces some of what's lost.
Stir into 1 litre of water:
½ tsp salt, table or sea — about 1,150 mg sodium
½ tsp potassium chloride salt substitute (such as NoSalt or Nu-Salt) — about 1,300 mg potassium; check your product's label
¼ tsp baking soda (optional) — about 300 mg more sodium
Sip it slowly across the day rather than drinking it at once. On a fasting day, up to 2 litres is the usual amount.
Magnesium is easier to take as a supplement (citrate or glycinate) than in the drink: follow the label, and keep supplements to 350 mg a day or less.
Stop and rest if you feel sick, weak, or notice an uneven heartbeat. Talk to a doctor first if you have kidney or heart problems, or take medicine that affects potassium, such as some blood-pressure medicines or spironolactone (often prescribed for PCOS).

🪡 Weave your Today
Choose which cards sit on the Today loom and in what order. Rested cards keep their data — they simply wait off-loom.
🧵 Threads choose what Lífsteinn weaves for you
Hiding a thread only tucks it away — its data stays safe and it can be rewoven any time. If the food or fasting threads ever feel heavier than helpful, resting them is a kind choice. 💙
Resting the food thread also rests the macros and workout cards; Body and Cycle share a tab, which stays as long as either is woven.

📏 Measurements
More measurements
🌊 Why weight goes up and down
The scale can swing ±2 kg overnight, and almost none of it is fat. The usual suspects: a salty meal (the body holds water for a day or two) · carbs after a low-carb stretch (every gram of stored glycogen carries 3–4 g of water — this is fuel, not fat) · a late or large meal still in transit · the week before a period (hormonal water, often 1–2 kg) · new or hard exercise (muscles hold water while they repair) · travel, poor sleep, or stress. Actual fat change needs roughly 7,700 kcal per kg — a single day simply can't do that in either direction. The gold line on the chart is the truth; single days are weather. 💙
Measurements often change before weight does.
